蝶々蒔絵螺鈿杯

螺鈿の華やぎの中を、3匹の蝶々が舞っています。高蒔絵という技法で描かれている蝶々は、レリーフのように肉取りがあって、小さな蝶々が仲睦まじく舞う動きをとらえたもの。螺鈿は白蝶貝やアワビの青い部分を使用し、揺らぎのある器の形によって、光の角度や反射が生まれ、螺鈿の光り方や見え方も変わります。

「少し暗いところで眺めてみると、高蒔絵のちょっとした高さというのが強調されて、蝶の立体感を楽しめると思います」と樋渡さん。

器の外側は、置き平目にさらに金粉を蒔いて、霞がかった雲のようなイメージに。器の内側と外側では、それぞれの空気感があって、想像の景色がひろがっていきます。
