箔絵杯「瑞雲」

縁起の良い雲、珍しい雲といわれる瑞雲を箔絵の技法で描いた作品。雲の輪郭は、プラチナの箔を使って白いキリッとした線で描き、初々しさと即興で描いた新鮮さを出しています。輪郭の内側は、金箔を細かくした砂子を蒔き付け、蒔絵の雰囲気や表情に。「箔絵は研いだり、研ぎ出したり、高く盛り上げたりという技術は入っていなくて、絵を描くように描いて、箔を押すという割合シンプルな仕事です。使っていくうちに箔が取れたり、擦れたりして、そこで古色がつくというか雰囲気が出てくるので、使い込んでいく愉しさもあります」と樋渡さん。
