白さぎ 皿

琵琶湖の近くに暮らす由良さんが、日常の中で出会う光景をもとにした図案で、水辺のヨシや白さぎの生き生きとした姿を表現しています。丁寧に磨いたガラスと金箔（金澄）の図案が一体となって、ガラスが水や空気のように感じられます。皿の内側も高台も削り出し、研磨して形を作っています。

ガラスとガラスの間に金を挟むゴールドサンドイッチ技法をヒントに由良さんが考案したオリジナル技法。金箔（金澄）を熱で圧着して絵を残すように彫り込み、自由な図案を実現しています。図案の上からガラスを被せるので、金が剥がれたり色が変わることもありません。
