へぎ丸重皿 (本朱)

「へぎ」という木材を割り裂いて加工する技法を用いた、5枚重ねの板皿。ノコギリなどの道具が発達する以前からあった木工技術で、木の塊にノミを入れ、楔を打ち込んで割り裂きます。木の質を見極め、木口から道管の流れに沿って楔を打ち込むことによって、へぐ度に新たな木のフォルムや表情が現れます。一枚一枚違うのに、皿を重ね戻したときにぴったりと合わさるという心地よい魅力があります。スタック性抜群で、重ねたり、並べたり、さまざまな使い方で楽しめます。塗装は本朱漆の仕上げ。お手入れも中性洗剤で洗えるので、料理を選ばずに使えます。
